Week 3 - God’s presence in creation
Theme:
Everything has been set in motion by God’s creative power of love.
We are part of this movement which is still in progress.
What I might wish to ask for:
That I am able to discover God’s presence in creation.
That I can look at creation as something which is still taking place.
That I may have a role to play in this ongoing process of creation.
In order to start my meditation well I become still and silent in order to let God’s gaze of love reach me.

Genesis 1, 1- 4
In the beginning God created[b] the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit[c] of God was moving over the face of the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; ….
I look at the world, the world around me, the world which I see and experience every day. A world with many different facets. Sometimes there is darkness and sometimes there is light. God saw that the light was good. I look at whatever gives light to my surroundings, to my life. I also think about the people who have brought light into my life.

Genesis 1, 26- 28
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
God made me in His image, after His likeness. In order to work with and treat creation as He does. In order to treat people just as He does. In order to bring light into life. Let there be light!
I consider moments in my own life when I was able to bring light to someone else. Sometimes that might be something very small and yet…. Maybe I would like to experience this more often in my life.

And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.
I look at the world in which I live. God be in my eyes and in my looking!
Maybe I need to dig deeply in order to see and find something which, together with God, I am able to say: Behold, it is very good! I start searching!
