Theme: The final note is reserved for love. Love is where it all began and love is what brings everything to completion.

What I may wish to ask:

That I am able to see that living a life of love really is possible and that it is precisely that which gives meaning to my life.

Theme:

Jesus himself is the heart of the body,

which receives his Spirit: the Church.

He is still the teacher,

who appeals to our hearts.

It will always be about faith,

about constantly looking towards God.

Maybe I wish to ask:

That I can let the risen Lord

do his work through me;

that I let myself be touched by his power,

and allow that power to enter me;

that I can be an apostle.

Theme:

I feel within me the powerful thrust of the divine life coming to expression as love which prods me into action.

What I might wish to ask:

That I can start living with the awareness that everything revolves around the love which God has given me.

Theme:

As the followers of Jesus become more and more aware of what has happened, they begin to understand their own responsibilities. Jesus’ words become even more meaningful and effective.

Theme:

With Jesus the concepts of time and eternity became linked.

His life showed us how, even to this very day, that the eternal God is present in our lives. Also, in me.

What I may wish to ask:

That I am able to feel the power of the eternal God within me. That my life takes on the form of a life forever.

Theme:

The theme is “The New Creation”.

What has happened to Jesus who passed through death, becomes slowly more visible as one experience builds on another. And Jesus also takes me by the hand. He wants me to also be a part of the New Creation: in a new way of looking at God, of looking at my life, of looking at others. But a new way of looking doesn’t happen by itself. It happens one step at a time.

What I may wish to ask:

That I can let Jesus lead me, one step at a time, along the way of discovering that new way of looking.

Theme: A new reality is coming to light.

The powerful experiences of the first people to witness the resurrection call us to believe in the new reality of the resurrection: Jesus is still always present with us.

What I may wish to ask for:

That I can allow this new, unexpected life to become a part of me and that I can feel the connection with the first witnesses.

Theme:

The theme this week is “Death is conquered”.

It seems as if the people who had formed a community around Jesus have fallen into a deep sleep – due to the shock they experienced following what had happened in the last few days. Then they start to wake up, one after another, the women first. They awaken as if from a dream. But it is not easy to let the new reality truly sink in.

What I might wish to ask for:

That I have the courage to allow what is happening here to really sink in

That I may be graced with faith in the resurrected Jesus;

That I may be counted among the first witnesses of his new life.

Theme:

Jesus shows us nothing else than that God is love. Jesus is himself eternal love. And yet, He is now hanging on the cross. People are capable of wishing others dead.

What I might wish to ask:

That I don’t withdraw from seeing the suffering Jesus has to endure, and that of so many with him; that I have the courage to see my own lack of freedom just as clearly as that of the bystanders, that He can probe and touch my heart from his cross.

Theme:

Those who think that Jesus’ fate is in their hands, choose the easy way out to be rid of him.

What I might wish to pray for:

That I will have the courage to say who Jesus is. That I can see things from the point of view of those involved and am also able to see my own place.

That my connection and solidarity with Jesus will grow, especially now when it comes down to what really matters.

Theme:

The moment of truth dawns for Jesus in the dark of night.

He loses everything he had. He is tested to the limit.

What I might wish to ask:

I may wish to ask to be given the ability to keep watch with Jesus; that I am able to understand what it means to remain faithful to the very end; and that the darkness in me will be overcome.

Theme:

Jesus chose the way he wanted to take knowing that suffering and death would be a part of it. My connection with Jesus makes me aware of my own choices: the choices I have already made and the choices I will be making.

What I might desire:

Maybe I would like to pray that I am able to discern what brings me true, deep peace. And that I remain open for Jesus’ extreme love.d

Theme:

To choose with Jesus in mind implies that I ask myself what is essential for my life as a Christian.

Which choices do I make for my life as a consequence of my decision to follow Jesus?

What I might desire:

That I can live my life as I see Jesus lived His life.

That I can find the humanly possible measure of what is being asked of me.

How does what is being asked of me connect me with Him?

What I might wish to ask:

That I may be touched by the mystery of Jesus’ intense love.

That I may be able, in all modesty, to give direction to my life in accordance with Jesus’ example.

That my heart is open to the love Jesus shows.

Theme: The search for the right way to take in life can make us hungry and tired. Jesus provides us with food for the journey, food for life.

What I may desire: That I get to know Jesus as someone who can satisfy my hunger. That I can learn to receive sustenance from Jesus.

Theme:

I sense the authority with which Jesus speaks,

and how He so clearly shows us His way.

What I may desire:

That I can listen to Jesus. That I am able to experience that He touches my heart and supports me in all my inabilities.

Theme:

Jesus can be a healer

of the soul and the body.

He gives inner freedom.

What I might desire:

That I may see how I am dependent on Jesus.

That I can follow Him in His liberating actions.

Theme:

Jesus calls. I am being personally addressed by Him. What shall I do?

My desire for this time of prayer might be:

That I can come to a better understanding of what Jesus does with people, and, consequently, what he also does with me.

That I don’t shy away from making myself available to Him.

Theme:

That I may be prepared when God calls on me and that I – in the light of God’s love for me – may sense who I really am, that it is my name which is being called, and that I may become aware of what I am being called to do.

What I may wish to ask:

That God may overcome my hesitation in responding to His call.

Theme:

Jesus begins his mission in life. He will be put to the test and challenged. The results will become visible.

What I may wish to ask:

That I can see the person of Jesus more clearly and deeply; that I can continue to grow in living and working more and more as Jesus did.
