Week 21 - Choosing with Jesus in mind
Theme:
What is essential for my life as a Christian?
How do the choices I make actually get made?
What I may wish to ask:
That I am able to answer Jesus’ invitation and can make choices for my life which are in tune with what I have seen in Jesus.
That I can let Jesus choose me.
Before I begin the meditation, I place myself in God’s (Jesus’) presence and become aware that He is gazing at me with love.

Music: Revela Oculos Meos.
Revela oculos meos et considerabo mirabilia tua, domine ut doceas me iusticiam tuam. Da michi intellectum ut discam mandata tua. Legem pone michi domine et vitam iustificacionum exquiram et a preceptis tuis me exercebor. Revela oculos….
English translation:
Open my eyes and I will consider your wonders. Lord, teach me your righteousness. Give me understanding that I may learn your commandments. Give me the law, Lord, and I will seek a life of righteousness. And I will be guided by your precepts. Open my eyes….

Psalm 1
The Two Ways
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
The psalmist uses the word ‘delight’ when he speaks about the law of the Lord. Which verb (word) comes to mind in me when I consider the law of the Lord? And what is that law for me?
*
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water,
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
What are the fruits for me of following Jesus, or of wanting to follow Jesus?
*
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
Choosing with Jesus in mind… What do I need, what would help me, to keep on making that choice?
